The Educational Leadership programs are dedicated to excellence in teaching and in the success of our students. Our mission is to prepare current and future educational leaders for effective leadership roles at the school or district level. Our faculty provide authentic learning experiences, active engagement, and innovative strategies relevant to contemporary learners through an online course environment. The University of West Georgia’s (UWG) Educational Leadership (EDLE) programs include Tier 1 Educational Leadership (certification only, comparable to Master’s Level courses) and Tier 2 Educational Leadership (degree or certification, Specialist Level courses).

The EDLE programs are part of the Leadership, Research, and School Improvement Department of the College of Education and are fully online.

Students in the Educational Leadership programs include K-12 classroom teachers interested in future roles in leadership, instructional coaches, other educators (e.g., technology specialist, lead teachers, program coordinators) and current school/district leaders. Through the EDLE course work, students are seeking to improve their knowledge, skills, and competencies and also gain PSC leadership certification.
