Job Overview
Two tenure‑track/tenured faculty positions at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor or Professor in Biomedical Systems Engineering. Target appointment date:
Fall 2024.
- Teaching:
Deliver courses during the academic year, grading, maintaining office hours, preparing classes, and following university policies regarding teaching. - Service:
Service to the School of Computer and Cyber Sciences and Augusta University as requested by the Dean, service to the profession, including local, regional, and national/international leadership within the discipline. - Research:
Persistent scholarship leading to national/international recognition and impact. Key measures of success include publications and presentations appropriate to the field, which can include articles on instruction as well as other activities.
- PhD in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Cybersecurity.
- Assistant Professor:
Doctoral degree, active research program with publications in high‑quality venues. - Associate Professor:
Doctoral degree, at least five years at the rank of Assistant Professor or comparable training, active externally‑funded research program with a strong record of publications, membership on technical program committees, and record of mentoring graduate students. - Professor:
Doctoral degree, at least five years at the rank of Associate Professor or comparable training, active externally‑funded research program, strong record of competitive federal or state research funding, outstanding publications, high visibility through committee chairing or editorial service, and proven record of mentoring doctoral students. - Faculty employment qualifications (SACSCOC compliance, evidence of teaching and scholarship, successful experience waived for new entrants, and desirable personal qualities judged by interview, biographical data, and recommendations).
- Consistent with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) requirements.
- Evidence of ability as a teacher.
- Evidence of activity as a scholar and ability in all other duties assigned.
- Successful experience (waived for those just entering the academic profession who meet all other requirements).
- Desirable personal qualities judged on the basis of personal interview, complete biographical data, and recommendations.
Full‑time academic year based (August through May). Salary commensurate with education, experience, and achievements; subject to availability of funds. About the SchoolThe School of Computer and Cyber Sciences, established in 2017, offers B.S. degrees in computer science, information technology, cybersecurity, cyber operations, cybersecurity engineering, and biomedical systems engineering; M.S. degrees in Information Security Management and Computer Science; and a Ph.D. program in Computer and Cyber Sciences.
