The Department of Psychiatry and Health Behavior in the Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University seeks a full‑time faculty member at the rank of Assistant Professor. The successful candidate will support the growth and development of the AU and ECRH partnership and its academic mission, particularly in inpatient care, psychiatry, psychology, and nursing education. The selected candidate will work collaboratively with the ECRH Clinical Director to develop specific responsibilities related to the delivery of clinical services at ECRH while ensuring compliance with institutional policies and applicable regulatory and accrediting standards.
This position does not meet the requirements to be on a tenure track.
- Attend departmental activities – expected 10% attendance in departmental functions; present at 80% of all departmental events.
- Education (30%) – support and participate in recruitment of residents, fellows, psychiatrists, psychology interns, post‑docs, faculty psychologists, and nurses.
- Assist in delivery of clinical services for Psychology in conjunction with the overall mission of ECRH, ensuring compliance with accreditation and policies.
- Assist in development, implementation, and monitoring of psychology services for efficiency and effectiveness.
- Clinical (60%) – promote and utilize the Recovery Model within ECRH treatment services.
- PhD, PsyD, or equivalent related degree from an accredited institution.
- Assistant Professor – early level career faculty member with appropriate postgraduate training.
- Compliance with Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) requirements for institutional accreditation.
- Evidence of teaching ability.
- Evidence of scholarly activity and ability in all other duties.
- Successful experience (waived for those just entering the field who meet all other requirements).
- Desirable personal qualities judged on interview, biographical data, and recommendations.
FISCAL YEAR BASED with full‑time commitment (FTE 1.0) and year‑round work. Salary and compensation commensurate with education, experience, and achievements; subject to availability of funds. Tuition Assistance Program may be available after 6 months of employment. Rank and salary determined at hire based on experience, education, credentials, specialty, training, and internal equity and market data.
