Job SummaryThe College of Science and Mathematics at Augusta University has an open position for a Lecturer in the Department of Physics and Biophysics. The position is driven by enrollment growth, primarily teaching, with service and scholarly activity components.
Responsibilities- Teach Physics and/or Astronomy lecture courses and laboratory courses (90% of workload).
- Participate in service activities supporting the department, college, university, and professional community (10% of workload).
- Engage in scholarly activities as required, possibly including research.
- MS degree with at least 18 graduate hours in Physics or a related discipline.
- Evidence of teaching ability.
- Evidence of activity as a scholar and ability to perform all assigned duties.
- Successful experience (waived for new academics meeting other requirements).
- Desirable personal qualities assessed by interview, biography, and recommendations.
- Doctorate in Physics or a related discipline.
- Teaching experience.
Academic year based, working August through May. Full-time equivalent (FTE) 1.0.
Salary commensurate with education, experience, and achievements; subject to funding availability.
