JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

Education: Bachelor's degree from an accredited university required;
Master's degree preferred.

Certification or Licensure: Meets Georgia certification requirements for Educational Leadership

Skills: Thorough knowledge of public education administration and Richmond County School System policies and procedures (or ability to acquire within a reasonable time), the Strategic Plan, and state and federal regulations and laws. Ability to integrate information and data from multiple sources, maintain records and documents electronically in an orderly fashion, and monitor multiple projects simultaneously. Good decision-making and problem-solving skills.

Work Experience: Three years of successful teaching and/or leadership experience. Other combinations of applicable education, training, and experience that provide the knowledge, abilities, and skills necessary to perform effectively in the position may be considered.

PRIMARY DUTY:

This position is responsible for coordinating functions related to the operation of the district-wide Career, Technical, and Agricultural Education (CTAE) programs in a manner that fulfills the mission and strategic goals of the district while complying with state and federal laws and accreditation standards related to CTAE.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Work with school administration to ensure CTAE receives the appropriate support from the system. Improve customer service satisfaction through communication between the school, students, parents, and the Central Office.
  • Monitor CTAE enrollment for all CTAE courses/classes/teachers as it relates to FTE funding.
  • Make recommendations to the director on pathway offerings and/or elimination based on enrollment from FTE data.
  • Develop, implement, monitor, and evaluate program goals and initiatives Excellent oral and written communication skills. Excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Updates and monitors course numbers for all CTAE courses; approves course offering requests from schools.
  • Review Program of Work (POW) documents of extended day teachers, monitor teachers' activities as they relate to the POW requirements, and make recommendations to the director.
  • Coordinates and manages all CTSO and JROTC field trips.
  • Manages and updates documentation on all CTAE inventory for each school and teacher as mandated by DOE and RCSS.
  • Prepares quarterly reports for inventory and budget spending from all middle and high schools.
  • Attends all local, regional, state, and national CTAE-related conferences and conventions.
  • Manages and makes recommendations for the CTAE system improvement plan for DOE.
  • Assures that CTAE is in compliance with OCR requirements of publishing non-discrimination statements in all literature including yearly public announcements.
  • Serves on the CTAE advisory committees for Youth Apprenticeship,

    A. R. Johnson, Richmond County Technical Career Magnet School, Marion Barnes Career Center, Cyber Academy, and Reaching Potential Through Manufacturing (RPM).
  • Provide supervision for staff at specialized programs such as the Cyber Academy and the Marion Barnes Career Center.
  • Prepares CTAE newsletter (twice a month) for teachers, schools, and RCSS leadership.
  • Collaborates with higher education institutions to expand CTAE Dual Enrollment opportunities.
  • Update and monitor the system's information on the DOE CTAE Resource Network system.
  • Works with the CTAE director to ensure that CTAE programming at specialized program sites (RPM, Marion Barnes Career Center, and Cyber Academy) and schools is functioning properly.
  • Collaborate with the Special Education Department to support the implementation of Career Technical Instruction (CTI) in CTAE classrooms across all schools and programs.
