PositionFull‑time tenure‑track faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor, Associate Professor, or Professor in Clinical Psychology with a joint appointment in the Department of Pediatrics of the Medical College of Georgia.
Job SummarySeeking a doctoral‑level psychologist who will develop an externally funded research program, provide clinical care, contribute to graduate and professional education, and collaborate across public health and pediatrics. The role promises a dynamic academic health environment focused on child and family health.
Responsibilities- Research (50%) – Build and maintain an impact research program as Principal Investigator; serve as team scientist; solicit and obtain extramural funding; publish in high‑impact journals; present at conferences; engage community partners.
- Clinical / Patient Care (40%) – Provide comprehensive assessments and therapeutic services for pediatric patients within the scope of practice; provide consultation to other clinicians.
- Teaching (5%) – Co‑teach up to one graduate course per year in SPH programs; mentor graduate students.
- Service (5%) – Serve on departmental, school, campus, and community committees; conduct peer review for journals and funding agencies.
- Doctoral degree (PhD or equivalent) in Clinical Psychology from an APA‑accredited program.
- Must hold or be able to obtain a medical license in Georgia and hospital privileges.
- Demonstrated record of scholarly productivity.
- Rank‑specific experience:
Assistant Professor–early‑career post‑doctoral training;
Associate Professor–at least five years as Assistant Professor;
Professor–at least five years as Associate Professor. - USG faculty employment qualifications: adherence to SACSCOC accreditation requirements; evidence of teaching, scholarship, and service; successful experience (waived for new faculty meeting other criteria); desirable personal qualities assessed in interview and reference review.
- Postdoctoral fellowship in pediatric psychology, public health, health services research, or related field.
- Experience preparing or submitting extramural grant applications.
- Experience with community‑engaged or translational research.
- Teaching experience in graduate, professional, or clinical training programs.
- Full‑time, FTE 1.0, fiscal‑year based, works year‑round.
- Salary and compensation are commensurate with rank, education, experience, and achievements and are subject to funding availability.
