Job SummaryAugusta University's College of Nursing invites applications for a full‑time, 12‑month faculty member as an Instructor. We are the state's flagship nursing program, enrolling more than 1000 students on two campuses and at numerous academic‑practice partner sites. The College of Nursing, an integral component of the University System of Georgia, is part of the state's only publicly‑funded comprehensive academic health science center.
This position does not meet the requirements to be on a tenure track.
- Classroom instruction
- Simulation and Skills Lab instruction
- May include clinical teaching
- Participation in department committees
- Master's degree in nursing
- Active licensure to practice nursing in Georgia, or meet all eligibility requirements to apply for a nursing license in the state of Georgia
- Consistent with the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) requirements for institutional accreditation
- Evidence of ability as a teacher
- Evidence of activity as a scholar and ability in all other duties assigned
- Successful experience, waived for those entering the academic profession who meet all other requirements
- Desirable personal qualities judged on the basis of personal interview, complete biographical data, and recommendations
- Academic teaching experience in clinical, simulation, or skills lab
- Didactic teaching experience with classroom technology
This position is fiscal year based and works year‑round. The intended work commitment or full‑time equivalent (FTE) is 1.0. Salary and compensation are commensurate with education, experience, and achievements, and are subject to availability of funds. Full‑time employees employed with the university for more than 6 months may be considered for the Tuition Assistance Program.
Rank and salary are determined at the time of hire based on experience, education, credentials, specialty, training, and internal equity.
All selected candidates must successfully pass a background check prior to starting. Candidates for positions requiring trust or purchase card usage must also have a credit check completed. Motor vehicle reports are required for faculty who must operate a university vehicle. Faculty hires must provide proof of completed academic degree(s) and, for foreign‑trained candidates, an educational or credential evaluation. All employees must ensure confidentiality, availability, and integrity of sensitive information, adhering to cybersecurity and privacy policies.
