Role Overview
The Residence Life Coordinator (RLC) is a full‑time, live‑on professional staff position responsible for creating a supportive community that fosters intellectual, social, and cultural development for students and staff. The RLC provides leadership for daily operations, staff management, and facility maintenance to ensure a safe, clean, and comfortable environment.
Responsibilities- Communicate students' rights and responsibilities and assist them in developing skills to address interpersonal conflicts.
- Serve as student conduct hearing officer.
- Coordinate community service or engagement activities within the hall or complex.
- Foster an inclusive environment that encourages dialogue among diverse student populations.
- Mentor resident assistants and living residents.
- Assist in coordinating Living Learning Communities specific to the building.
- Collaborate with faculty and academic partners on academic initiatives in the hall.
- Supervise hall/residence staff, front desk operations, and recruitment processes.
- Provide leadership through communication, interpretation, and administration of residence hall and university policies.
- Maintain visibility through office hours, floor visits, and participation in staff and student programs.
- Coordinate staffing evaluations and facilitate performance feedback.
- Provide ongoing training and development for assigned staff.
- Manage hall programming, supplies, and training budget.
- Work with facilities staff on maintenance, capital improvement requests, and safety training.
- Maintain records, oversee check‑ins/outs/moves, and manage budgets and spreadsheets.
- Represent Housing and Residence Life at conferences and present workshops to staff and students.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution with two years of applicable relevant experience.
- Master’s degree in College Student Personnel, Higher Education Administration, Counseling, or a directly related field.
- Experience with community living and leadership development.
- Knowledge of planning and organizing student events.
- Excellent supervisory skills and techniques.
- Familiarity with student management systems.
- Knowledge of student conduct, crisis response, and behavioral intervention.
- Detail‑oriented with strong prioritization and organization.
- Demonstrated initiative and organizational leadership and vision.
- Application of student development and community building strategies.
- Analytical problem‑solving and sound decision‑making ability.
- Ability to foster collaborative and collegial relationships with Housing and Residence Life staff and other constituencies.
Shift: Days;
Monday‑Friday (outside standard business hours may be required).
Pay Band: B8.
Salary: $45,400 per year, commensurate with qualifications within the established range. Full‑time benefits include health, dental, and life insurance;
