Position: TEACHER (Certified)

Responsibilities

As a Certified Teacher on the Lighthouse Education Team, you will integrate and coordinate a patient‑centric therapeutic strategy with a focus on academics, ensuring delivery of high‑quality instruction aligned with the mission and licensing requirements.

Job Duties
  • Plan, coordinate, and supervise individualized direct care, educational group services, and activities for each assigned student or group.
  • Define and implement education and behavior goals as a member of the educational team.
  • Provide continuous individualized tailored student care, observation, interaction, documentation, and role modeling under the direct supervision of the Director of Education.
  • Hold delegated administrative authority, responsibility, and accountability necessary for carrying out assigned duties.

Qualifications
  • Education:

    Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Education or a related field.
  • Experience:

    Minimum of three years of related experience, knowledge of educational theories and classroom teaching strategies, and a good understanding of education and therapeutic intervention.
  • License:
    Valid teaching credentials and credentials to teach exceptional children; certified teacher by the State of Georgia required.
  • Additional Requirements:
    • Successful completion of CPR certification.
    • Handle With Care (HWC) training prior to assisting with a restraining procedure and within 90 days of employment.
    • Knowledge of current professional education practice and techniques applicable to the care of severely behaviorally disabled students.
    • Ability to organize and conduct educational classes/groups, direct student needs, and provide appropriate documentation.
    • Analytical skills to observe educational practice and interpret human behavior accurately.
    • Knowledge of developmental stages preferred.
