Job SummaryDepartment of Physics and Biophysics at Augusta University invites applications for a tenure‑track faculty position at the Assistant Professor rank. Conventional physics areas will be considered, with emphasis on biophysics. The role includes independent research, teaching at undergraduate and graduate level, and service to the university.
Responsibilities- Teaching Expectation (40%): lecture and/or lab courses within the undergraduate physics program, core science courses, grading, office hours, and related duties.
- Research Expectation (50%): develop an independent, novel research program, secure grants, publish, and collaborate with other researchers.
- Service Expectation (10%): participate in departmental, college, and university committees and initiatives.
- A Ph.D. in Physics, Astrophysics, or a closely related field.
- Strong publication record in peer‑reviewed journals.
- Evidence of teaching effectiveness.
- Evidence of scholarly activity and ability to perform other faculty duties.
- Compliance with Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC) accreditation requirements.
- Strong publication record in ranked peer‑reviewed journals.
- Experience developing an independent, novel research program.
- Excellence in teaching.
