Job Summary
Instructors are responsible for delivering educational materials using sound educational practices focused on the academic development of each student, using the educational experience to develop knowledge and skills in their field, promoting an engaging, dynamic, student‑centered environment and supporting students as needed. Instructors serve as professional role models in ethical conduct, aligning with the Ancora Education Mission and Core Values.
Key Responsibilities- Utilize classroom and lab instruction, student assessment mechanisms, and classroom management techniques to provide an engaged educational experience.
- Guarantee that students are presented with material to successfully meet learning objectives in each course.
- Ensure instructional materials and equipment are ready, sufficient, consistently maintained, and in working order.
- Participate in ongoing faculty assessment and professional development activities, maintaining required certification and licensure.
- Actively participate in meetings, review and analyze assessment data, compile reports, and meet academic and administrative deadlines.
- Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and regulatory guidelines and internal company policies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Active certification or licensure, when required.
- Minimum five years of industry experience within the last 10 years.
- Non‑Degree and Occupational Associate degrees: at least three (3) years practical work experience in instruction.
- Academic Associate or Bachelor’s degree: at least four (4) years practical work experience and a related degree at the same level; all online faculty must have a master’s degree in the content area or a master’s with a minimum of 18 semester/24 quarter graduate credit hours.
- Exceptional cases: eight (8) years of practical work experience may be substituted and justified by the campus.
- General Education courses: master’s degree with relevant coursework – 18 semester hours at any credential level.
- Some states require 18 semester hours at the master’s level.
- Prior to teaching, instructors must have documented prior teaching experience or complete new instructor training.
- Qualify as an instructor per institutional and accreditation standards.
- Previous experience teaching in a proprietary education setting.
- Knowledge of federal, state, and accreditation regulations applicable to the proprietary education industry.
Employee occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, use hands, reach, climb stairs, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, talk, hear, taste or smell. Employee may need to lift up to 25 pounds. Requires good vision. Prolonged periods seated and computer use.
Work EnvironmentWork environment usually not exposed to weather; typically moderate noise level.
