Walton Oaks Adventure Center is Oaks Ministries after‑school program for the prek‑6th grade residents of Walton Apartments. This Christ‑centered program aims to share the love of Christ to our students. We also deliver additional academic support and enrichment opportunities in a safe environment to further develop and help our kids succeed in school and life. Everything we do at Walton Oaks and Walton Green is because of the gospel.
Our heart behind establishing the adventure center was to introduce our students to King Jesus and share the love of Christ with them.
Position Overview
The Walton Adventure Center Team Leader is a key part‑time role within our after‑school ministry program. This position is designed for a dedicated, disciplined, and creative individual who thrives in team environments, leads with integrity, and is passionate about working with children in a faith‑based context. The Team Leader will be responsible for providing strong daily leadership, modeling servant leadership, and cultivating a safe, enriching, and Christ‑centered environment for students.
This position offers a unique opportunity to shape young lives, contribute to a dynamic team, and grow in personal leadership while advancing the mission of Oaks Ministries.
- Lead engaging, biblically grounded bible lessons and spiritual activities for elementary school students.
- Supervise and ensure student safety during all program activities, including classroom, recess, and transitions.
- Foster a positive, inclusive, and respectful environment where every child feels seen, valued, and supported.
- Provide leadership to high school interns by delegating tasks, offering mentorship, and modeling Christ‑like behavior.
- Support students in their academic growth through structured homework time and tutoring initiatives.
- Facilitate enrichment activities that include creative arts, science, and implementing Fun Fridays.
- Assist club leaders with implementation and help lead or co‑lead clubs based on student interest and program needs.
- Communicate effectively with the adventure center team, students, and volunteers.
- Participate in team meetings, staff devotions, and ongoing training and professional development.
- Prior experience working with children in educational, ministry, or recreational settings (faith‑based preferred).
- Proven leadership ability with a strong work ethic and a track record of following through on tasks.
- Excellent interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
- A team player with creativity, initiative, and flexibility.
- A deep sense of personal responsibility, punctuality, and reliability.
- A strong understanding of biblical principles and a growing Christian faith.

- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check and meet all child safety requirements.
