Job Summary
The Coordinator of Student Involvement (Student Union) is responsible for planning, implementing, and assessing a comprehensive campus activities program that enhances student engagement, fosters a sense of belonging, and supports the overall student experience. This role provides direct oversight of campus-wide events, student programming initiatives, and student staff, while advising the student programming board (the Jaguar Production Crew). The coordinator collaborates with campus partners to deliver high-impact events, manages logistics and budgets, supports marketing and outreach efforts, and ensures programs align with institutional goals, student engagement priorities, and best practices in student affairs.
Responsibilities
The duties include, but are not limited to:
OVERSEE THE RECRUITMENT, ONBOARDING, AND TRAINING:
Oversee the recruitment, onboarding, and training of student employees for the Jaguar Production Crew. Recruit, hire, onboard, train, and develop 30+ student assistants and event staff to efficiently run the Jaguar Production Crew. Develop and implement a strategic recruitment plan to attract a well-rounded and high-performing student staff aligned with campus programming needs. Coordinate and manage the full hiring process, including application review, interviews, selection, and hiring documentation.
Design and facilitate a comprehensive onboarding experience that introduces staff to departmental expectations, policies, and campus resources. Create and maintain a structured training curriculum focused on event operations, customer service, leadership development, and risk management. Lead ongoing professional development opportunities to enhance staff skills in event execution, teamwork, and problem-solving. Establish clear roles, expectations, and accountability measures for all Crew members and student leaders.
