Job Title

CRIMINAL JUSTICE ADJUNCT – HALL (Lanier Technical College – part‑time, non‑benefits eligible, FLSA‑exempt)

Shift: Day (United States)

Compensation: $2,200 per course

Position Overview

Adjunct Criminal Justice Instructor – Lanier College & Career Center. Reports to the Dean of Business, Public Safety and Professional Services.

Responsibilities
  • Prepare and teach classes as assigned in accordance with the approved course syllabus.
  • Ensure desired course outcomes meet the stated objectives.
  • Prepare curriculum and syllabus for coursework taught.
  • Evaluate students’ progress in attaining goals and objectives.
  • Administer and grade class examinations.
  • Maintain records of student grades.
  • Attend in‑service training, workshops and seminars as needed.
  • Ensure safety and security requirements are met in the training areas.
  • Meet all required deadlines.
  • Meet with students, staff members and supervisors as needed.
Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Criminal Justice or a closely related field from a regionally accredited college or university with appropriate coursework that demonstrates competencies in specific course content.
• Minimum of three years of appropriate work experience.

Technical Competencies
  • Skill in developing lesson outlines and materials.
  • Knowledge of the vocational area of assignment.
  • Skill in presenting subject matter.
  • Skill in administering tests to evaluate progress.
  • Skill in the use of computers and related job‑related software programs.
  • Skill in interpersonal relations and in dealing with adult learners.
  • Oral and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of student information systems.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous teaching experience at the postsecondary level.
  • Previous work experience in law enforcement.
  • Post‑secondary Officer Safety Technology (P.O.S.T.) certified instructor.
  • Previous experience teaching online.
