Job Summary

The Advisor for Students in Transition provides specialized academic advising and support to students navigating significant academic and enrollment transitions, including transfer students, returning students, students changing majors, students on academic probation or suspension, and students redirecting from competitive or selective academic pathways. The position is responsible for delivering proactive, student-centered advising, coordinating intervention and retention efforts, developing individualized academic success plans, and connecting students to appropriate campus resources and support services.

The Advisor collaborates with campus partners to support student persistence, engagement, and degree completion while assisting with transition programming, outreach initiatives, and student success efforts aligned with Augusta University's strategic priorities related to enrollment growth, retention, belonging, and holistic student support.

Responsibilities Cross-Unit Collaboration

Collaborate with academic colleges, Enrollment and Student Affairs departments, faculty, and campus support offices to coordinate student support strategies and interventions. Work closely with the Coordinator for Training and Student Transitions and other advising staff to ensure consistent communication, referral processes, and service delivery. Participate in university committees, initiatives, and meetings related to student success, retention, enrollment, and academic support. Assist with collecting and reporting student engagement, retention, and transition data to support assessment and strategic planning efforts.
