To further strengthen the university's student success infrastructure, Augusta University will establish a new position:
Assistant Vice President for Student Success and Retention. This portfolio will provide leadership for the university's student success strategy, assessment, data-informed decision-making, and student support operations. The following units will transition to this new division:

• Academic Advising
• Center for Learning and Academic Student Success (CLASS)
• Health Professions Outreach (HPO)

Bringing these areas together will strengthen the university's ability to coordinate student support services, leverage analytics to identify opportunities for intervention, evaluate the effectiveness of student success initiatives, and implement evidence-based strategies that improve retention, persistence, and graduation outcomes.

The duties include, but are not limited to:

STRATEGIC LEADERSHIP

• Develop and implement a comprehensive student success strategy aligned with institutional goals.
• Lead university-wide retention and completion initiatives.
• Coordinate efforts among academic and administrative units to create integrated student support systems.
• Serve as a strategic advisor to senior leadership on student success metrics and outcomes.

STUDENT SUCCESS INNOVATION

• Design targeted interventions for first-year, transfer, online, adult, military-affiliated, Pell-eligible, first-generation, and underserved student populations.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of advising, tutoring, mentoring, and student support programs.
• Recommend new strategies based on proven practices and emerging research.

DATA ANALYTICS AND DECISION SUPPORT

• Partner with Institutional Research to analyze retention, progression, graduation, and enrollment trends.
• Develop predictive models to identify at-risk students and populations.
