Overview
The candidate will work in a team environment under the supervision of the Application (Use the "Apply for this Job" box below). to develop new ester-based lubricant oils & metalworking fluid formulations. The candidate will manage technical, product development, and customer application requirements associated with the ZSUS product line in collaboration with the global technical and commercial team. Position will progress to responsibility for developing new products and problem solving to meet customer needs at existing and potential new accounts.
Responsibilities- Experience with chemistry lab equipment, chemical handling, safety and hygiene.
- Hands-on chemistry and mechanical skills are essential for success.
- Evaluate new raw materials that enhance product formulation performance or reduce cost.
- Good organizational skills, competent with basic mathematics, excellent documentation and reporting skills.
- Ability to identify and manage priorities, work safely and cleanly, and identify options for improvement.
- Capable of troubleshooting lab equipment problems, handle routine and non-routine maintenance and calibration
- Maintain chemical inventory level and laboratory supplies.
- Development of products:
- Understand structure property relationships of components and formulate for optimum cost performance.
- Develop new and modify existing lubricant formulations for industrial, automotive, marine, and dielectric applications.
- Evaluate the tribological performance of ester-based base oils and lubricant formulations.
- Investigate methods that improve product life, stability, and compatibility in service.
- Support product quality control, registration, procurement, and technical sales.
- Exercises independent judgment and discretion in developing the products and formulations described above.
- A degree in engineering or chemistry/physics.
- Experience in the industrial chemistry / lubrication, a strong advantage.
- Fluent in English. Proficient in EXCEL, WORD, POWERPOINT, TEAMS software. Good math and organization skills.
- Ability to safely operate, calibrate, maintain sensitive scientific instruments.
- Ability to take direction and work independently with minimal supervision.
