Newcomb & Boyd
, a multi‑discipline engineering firm headquartered in Atlanta, Georgia, with team members across the country, is looking for a Mechanical Data Center Specialist / Commissioning Agent
. The role requires 100% travel and being based in the Reno, NV area. The work is primarily remote.

Responsibilities
  • Quality verification inspections and documentation review of the commissioning process for all mechanical equipment during Level 1, Level 2, and Level 3 steps as defined in the project commissioning plan, specifications, submittals and applicable codes and standards.
  • Deliverables include:
    • L1 FAT/FWT Reports
    • L2 Torque Logs
    • L2 Equipment Receiving and BOL Documentation
    • L2 Field Installation Reports
    • L3 PMS and BMS Point to Point Verifications
    • L3 Energization and/or Functional Test Reports
    • TAB Reports
  • Participate and utilize the software management system and the Project Share Site to post commissioning checklists, readiness evaluation reports, and other records as required by specification.
  • Perform commissioning inspections using checklists or forms in the quality control software system at major milestones as requested by the PM. Inspections shall be performed at the project milestones and will assess adherence to specifications, submittals, and applicable codes and standards.
  • Assist in tracking and resolving open issues as needed.
Knowledge, Skills, And Abilities
  • Knowledge of the applicable project documents related to the mechanical systems required to be commissioned is a plus.
  • Ability to commit to 100% travel.
  • Ability to prioritize effectively, follow-through, and practice self‑implemented quality control measures.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • A desire to develop knowledge and grow professionally.
Education And Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, or Certificate/Diploma from an accredited trade school or community college.
  • Prior experience in a mechanical construction or commissioning‑based role required.
