Estimator

As an Estimator with Webber, you will play a key role in analyzing, preparing, and reviewing bids for heavy civil infrastructure projects, including roads, highways, and bridges. The position focuses on projects $50 million and larger across all delivery methods, ensuring competitive, accurate, and compliant cost proposals.

• Access cost effectiveness of products, projects, and services.
• Track actual costs relative to bids as projects develop, including commodity pricing before bid and during the buy‑out phase.
• Consult with clients, vendors, and internal teams to discuss project details, formulate strategies, and resolve conflicts.
• Coordinate with engineers, owners, contractors, and subcontractors on changes and adjustments to cost estimates.
• Review plans and specifications for compliance and standard industry practices for utility and water/wastewater treatment plant projects.
• Manage all correspondence during the bidding phase, including plans, specifications, bid forms, RFIs, clarifications, and addenda.
• Administer full‑cycle take‑offs and pricing for assigned divisions, including subcontractor coordination and bid preparation when only 30–60 % of plans are available.
• Maintain a directory of suppliers, contractors, and subcontractors for your divisions using Smart Bid Net  software.
• Prepare sub‑bid analysis documents and electronic estimates, including preliminary cost information.
• Generate documentation and estimates for management planning, organization, and scheduling.

• Experience in all delivery methods:
  Hard Bid, CSP, CMAR, CMGC, and Design Build.
• Minimum Bachelor’s Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Environmental Engineering, or a related field.
• Proficiency with estimating software such as AutoCAD, Primavera, Timberline, Win Est, and similar tools.
• Moderate to high proficiency in MS Excel, Outlook, and Word.
• Strong independent work ethic and self‑motivation, managing multiple deadlines.
• Team player for collaboration during the pre‑construction stage.
• Valid driver’s license for occasional travel.
