Position Summary: We have an immediate need for an Automation Engineer to be based in Carrollton, GA. This is an onsite position.

• Responsible for developing data acquisition, automation, and control systems for industrial barang, casting and rolling of copper or aluminum rod.
• Develop SCADA (supervisory control and data acquisition) systems and operator interface applications.
• Design industrial databases (SQL Server and Oracle) and write custom computer programs for various systems.
• Interface with PLCs and drive systems.
• Apply standard procedures to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical components, diagnose, and resolve issues.
• Create project manuals and electrical schematics using CAD.
• Develop cost estimates and proposals for electrical and SCADA systems.
• Develop an in-depth knowledge of all aspects of corporate systems.
• Assist with on-site commissioning of all aspects of internal systems.
• Transfer know-how to SCR customers through training, discussions, presentations, and startup assistance.

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or related engineering field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience but candidates must have industrial experience.
• SCADA (supervisory control and data acquisition) system experience (preferably GE iFix or Rockwell Factory Talk).
• Experience working with industrial databases such as SQL Server, Oracle, Proficy Historian.
• Computer programming, networking, database, and reporting skills.
• Siemens or Rockwell PLC and drive experience preferred.
• CAD experience with AutoCAD preferred.
• Self-starter with passion for problem solving and continuous improvement requiring minimal supervision and willingness to develop into subject matter expert.
• Ability to travel internationally: 25%.
• Must possess excellent communication, organization, presentation, interpersonal, and project management skills.
