About the job you're consideringCapgemini Engineering is actively looking for a Senior Electrical Power Systems Engineer with senior level knowledge, skill, and experience in large, complex, high‑reliability, highly regulated industry and first‑of‑a‑kind (FOAK) new facility or power plant design.
Your role- Lead the design and integration of SC1/Class 1E (safety‑related) and SC2 and SC3 electrical systems, including Medium Voltage (MV) and Low Voltage (LV) distribution.
- Perform complex electrical studies such as load flow, short circuit, motor starting, and protective relay coordination using ETAP software and ANSI/IEC standards.
- Prepare electrical engineering deliverables such as Requirements Specifications, Electrical Load Lists, One‑line diagrams, Calculations, Schematics, and 3‑Line drawings, ensuring they are on‑spec, on‑budget, and on‑schedule.
- Develop detailed procurement specifications for major components, including main transformers, switch gear, diesel generators, and UPS systems, and collaborate with suppliers.
- Navigate regulatory requirements (CA‑CNSC and US‑NRC) and support licensing processes, ensuring all designs meet nuclear‑specific standards.
- Interface with transmission providers to manage Generator Interconnection Agreements and ensure grid stability compliance.
- Apply codes and standards applicable to electrical system design in the US and CA (e.g., IEEE, IEC, CSA and NEC) and in Europe (e.g., IEC, EU).
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (Master’s preferred).
- Professional Engineering License: US (PE) or CA (PEng) or equivalent international license.
- 7+ years of experience in heavy and high‑reliability industries such as nuclear, power, process, marine, oil & gas, and military.
- Excellent proficiency with PC productivity software (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Project, Visio).
The base compensation range for this role in the posted location is: $82,082 - $193,440.
Capgemini provides compensation range information in accordance with applicable national, state, provincial, and local pay transparency laws. The base compensation range listed for this position reflects the minimum and maximum target compensation Capgemini, in good faith, believes it may pay for the role at the time of this posting. This range may be subject to change as permitted by law.
The actual compensation offered to any candidate may fall outside of the posted range and will be determined based on multiple factors legally permitted in the applicable jurisdiction, including geographic location, education and qualifications, certifications and licenses, relevant experience and skills, seniority and performance, market and business considerations, and internal pay equity.
In addition to base salary, this role may be eligible for additional compensation such as variable incentives, bonuses, or commissions, depending on the position and applicable laws.
