Overview

Sim Ventions is a 100% employee‑owned company located on Dahlgren Naval Base. We are looking for a highly skilled Electrical Engineering Technician capable of independently running an electronics and PCB production and prototype facility for engineering development and low‑rate production efforts.

Location

Dahlgren Naval Base, Virginia (on‑base presence required).

Clearance

An ACTIVE Secret Clearance is required. TS/SCI clearance is preferred and applicants will need to be eligible for a TS/SCI clearance within one year of starting.

Requirements
  • Minimum of 4 years experience as a skilled electrical engineering technician.
  • Demonstrated experience operating four or more of the following manufacturing equipment: solder stencil printer, pick & place machine, solder reflow oven, automated optical inspection station, X‑ray inspection machine, prototype PCB milling machine, selective soldering machine, BGA rework station.
  • Rigorous hand soldering experience with component sizes 0201, BGA, LGA, and QFN.
Responsibilities
  • Perform moderately complex engineering technician support assignments.
  • Construct and build devices and simple equipment.
  • Construct developmental and production models following layouts and diagrams.
  • Conduct tests and experiments requiring non‑standard setups and procedures.
  • Extract and compile data from field notes, technical manuals, lab reports, and bench tests.
  • Develop information about operational failures and modifications.
  • Perform more complex aspects of function, working independently on mastered tasks while receiving guidance/supervision on new assignments.
Preferred Skills
  • 10 or more years of experience as an Electrical Engineering Technician.
  • Experience independently running an electronics production laboratory.
  • Experience with the use and maintenance of all listed manufacturing equipment.
Education
  • High School degree or higher.
Compensation

The projected annual compensation range for this position is $70,000 – $120,000 (USD), based on experience, education, training, clearance, location, skills, and alignment with our compensation plan.
