The OpportunityWe're seeking a motivated GPS/Land Surveyor for our geospatial team. The primary role of the individual is to support GPS projects as well as support our Engineering staff with stake‑out and topological surveys. Experience with real‑time survey grade GPS and traditional survey equipment is required.
Key Responsibilities- Collect high‑accuracy GPS data in the field using industry‑standard equipment and mobile GIS applications.
- Conduct stake‑out and topological surveys to support engineering projects.
- Conduct as‑built surveys.
- Verify asset locations and document field conditions across various project sites.
- Process and integrate GPS data into enterprise GIS databases, ensuring data quality and accuracy.
- Associate's degree (or equivalent coursework) in Geography, GIS, Geomatics, Environmental Science, or related field—OR 1–2 years of hands‑on GIS experience (internships count).
- Working knowledge of ESRI ArcGIS software (ArcGIS Pro, or ArcGIS Online).
- Knowledge of Microsoft Excel and basic data management.
- Valid driver's license and ability to travel regularly to field sites.
- Comfortable working outdoors in various weather conditions.
- Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills.
- Good communication skills for working with field crews, engineers, and clients.
- Experience with GPS/GNSS data collection equipment (Trimble, Leica, or similar).
- Familiarity with mobile data collection apps (Field Maps, Survey
123, Collector). - Knowledge of CAD software and understanding of coordinate systems and projections.
- Understanding of surveying or engineering principles.
