We are currently seeking an experienced Avionics Technician to support the Service side of our Airframe Operations. In this hands-on role, you’ll perform advanced troubleshooting, diagnostic, and repair work on complex avionics systems—keeping aircraft flight-ready and our clients confident in every mission.
What You’ll Do:- Diagnose complex avionics system issues, including communication, navigation, surveillance, cabin management, and flight control systems.
- Troubleshoot and repair Flight Management Systems (FMS,) Satcom and Airborne Radio Telephone Systems, EGPWS/TAWS, communications, navigation, radar, TCAS/XPDR, DME, autopilot/flight director, audio, ADF, Cabin Management/In-flight Entertainment (IFE), and other sophisticated avionics/electronics systems.
- Interpret and follow technical drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, and STC instructions to isolate faults and determine corrective actions.
- Perform on-aircraft troubleshooting, functional checks, and system-level testing on corporate aircraft avionics and electrical systems.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Planning, and other departments to resolve unique system discrepancies or modification challenges.
- Repair or replace defective wiring, components, LRUs, connectors, or antennas to restore full operational capability.
- Utilize OEM manuals, IPCs, AMMs, and FAA guidance to ensure repairs and alterations are in full regulatory compliance.
- Assist with ramp service troubleshooting events and support AOG response efforts as needed.
- Complete all required documentation in accordance with FAA regulations and Standard Aero’s quality standards.
- Ensure strict adherence to safety, cleanliness, and FOD prevention practices on the hangar floor.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 3+ years of hands-on Avionics experience
—with a strong focus on troubleshooting and service/repair (not just installation). - In-depth knowledge of both electrical and electronic principles, and the ability to interpret complex schematics and system layouts.
- Working knowledge of bonding and grounding techniques, continuity testing, and aircraft power systems.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States, without sponsorship.
- Experience troubleshooting avionics systems on Falcon, Challenger, Gulfstream, Hawker, Embraer
, or other corporate/business aircraft platforms. - Familiarity with cabin connectivity systems and avionics products such as Starlink, GoGo, Smart Sky, Rockwell Collins, or Honeywell
. - Prior exposure to maintenance tracking programs, STC packages, and engineering documentation is a plus.
