Position Summary

Child Enrichment is seeking a detail-oriented, organized, and mission-driven Finance & Grants Manager to oversee the organization’s financial operations, grant financial management, and administrative systems. This position plays a key role in ensuring financial accuracy, compliance, operational efficiency, and sustainability for a growing nonprofit organization serving children and families across a nine-county region.

The Finance & Grants Manager works closely with the Executive Director, leadership team, auditors, grant funders, and external partners to manage accounting processes, grant tracking and reporting, payroll coordination, budgeting support, and operational functions.

The ideal candidate is collaborative, proactive, highly organized, and comfortable balancing financial management with nonprofit grant administration and operational support.

Key Responsibilities Financial Management & Accounting
  • Manage day-to-day financial operations including accounts payable, accounts receivable, deposits, reconciliations, and general ledger functions
  • Maintain accurate accounting records and financial documentation
  • Prepare monthly financial reports, budget tracking reports, and supporting documentation for leadership and Board review
  • Monitor organizational cash flow and assist with financial forecasting
  • Coordinate annual audit preparation and serve as a liaison to auditors
  • Support development and implementation of financial policies, procedures, and internal controls
  • Ensure compliance with nonprofit accounting standards and organizational financial requirements
Grant Management & Compliance
  • Track grant budgets, expenditures, reimbursements, and reporting deadlines
  • Prepare and submit financial reimbursement requests and grant financial reports
  • Monitor restricted funding and ensure expenses are allocated appropriately
  • Work collaboratively with program leadership to track grant-funded activities and spending
  • Assist with grant proposal budgets and financial documentation
  • Maintain organized grant files and compliance records
  • Support preparation for grant monitoring visits and audits
Payroll & Administrative Operations
  • Coordinate payroll processing and related financial entries
  • Assist with employee benefits administration and HR documentation
  • Support organizational insurance renewals, contracts, and vendor management
  • Assist with operational coordination between Augusta and Thomson offices
  • Support office operations and organizational administrative systems
  • Identify opportunities to improve financial and operational workflows
Leadership & Organizational Support
  • Collaborate with leadership team to support organizational goals and strategic priorities
  • Assist with preparation of financial materials for Board and committee meetings
  • Support process documentation and organizational continuity efforts
  • Help strengthen financial and operational systems to support organizational growth and sustainability
Qualifications

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field preferred
  • Minimum of 3–5 years of accounting, finance, grants management, or nonprofit administrative experience
  • Strong understanding of budgeting, financial tracking, and grant compliance
  • Experience with accounting software and Microsoft Excel
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism
  • Commitment to Child Enrichment’s mission and values
Preferred Qualifications
  • Nonprofit accounting and grant management experience
  • Experience with Quick Books, payroll systems, and HR platforms
  • Experience supporting audits and financial reporting
  • Familiarity with government reimbursement grants and restricted funding
