Surgical Tech - Surgical Tech CVOR Adult

Job Details:

• Work 4 x 10-hour day shifts from 6:45 AM to 5:15 PM

• Function under the direction of registered professional nurse in moderate to high acuity surgical cases

• Prepare operative suite and surgical field ensuring safe patient care environment

• Maintain sterile field and assist with room set-up including opening sterile supplies

• Set up sterile table with instruments, supplies, equipment, and medications in prioritized manner

• Perform surgical counts with circulator and participate in procedure pause/time-out

• Scrub, gown, and glove; assist with gowning and gloving surgeon and assistants

• Pass instruments to surgeon and maintain organized back table and operative field

• Anticipate surgeon needs and provide suggestions throughout procedures

• Prepare sterile dressings and participate in post-procedure pause

• Clean and prepare instruments for terminal sterilization

• Assist with patient transport and room turnover between cases

• Maintain stock and medical supplies, assist with inventory and ordering

• Call or late coverage may be required

• Required certifications: BLS, CST or equivalent surgical technology certification

• High school diploma or GED required, surgical technology program completion required

• National certification required upon hire

• Must complete 20 hours continuing education per evaluation period

• Strong knowledge of surgical procedures and ability to work in stressful situations required
