Medication Administration Technician (PRN)

📍 Augusta, GA

💲 $15–$16 per hour

🕒 Day Shift and Night Shifts available

Bluff Recovery is seeking a reliable and detail‑oriented Medication Administration Technician (MAT) to join our compassionate team in Augusta, GA. This PRN role is ideal for a professional who is committed to supporting safe medication practices and contributing to a therapeutic, recovery‑focused environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Complete all medication‑related documentation for new admissions
  • Verify and reconcile client medications upon intake
  • Assist the medical department with required documentation and records
  • Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and clinical staff to support client care
  • Assist with and oversee medication administration in accordance with policy
  • Serve as a practicum observer for newly trained staff in medication administration
  • Communicate effectively through written and verbal communication logs
  • Attend meetings as required
  • Actively listen to and support clients across all areas of treatment
  • Maintain a safe, orderly, and therapeutic environment, including crisis intervention
  • Observe, evaluate, and provide feedback on client behavioral and emotional needs
  • Transport clients as needed
  • Complete new admission paperwork as assigned
  • Perform other duties as necessary to support program operations
Technical Competencies
  • Work collaboratively with onsite staff, including physicians and nursing personnel
  • Maintain a safe and well‑organized medication department with minimal errors
  • Monitor client medications and ensure accurate and timely distribution
  • Demonstrate knowledge of substance use disorder and mental health treatment
  • Maintain compliance with HIPAA, state licensing, and CARF standards
  • Support a strong and effective clinical program
  • Complete all required and mandatory training hours
  • Maintain strict confidentiality in all client interactions
Education & Experience
  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • 2–5 years of relevant experience in the medical field preferred
  • General knowledge of medication administration procedures required
  • Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems preferred
