As a CDS / HIV Linkage Coordinator within East Central Public Health District - Richmond County Health Department, you will join a dedicated group of public health professionals that help support the overall mission and vision of protecting lives of Georgian residents in a variety of ways.

Job Responsibilities- All East Central Health District 6 employees are deemed essential workers in the event of an emergency. You may be called on to staff a shelter or work at a Specimen Point of Collection Site (SPOC) or Point of Dispensing site (POD). If called, you are required to report to the designated site regardless of time.
- Assists in the implementation of timely disease intervention strategies to decrease the prevalence of communicable diseases.
- Performs timely disease intervention activities, including contact tracing and partner notification, and refers all patients/contacts to appropriate clinics promptly.
- Initiates timely field investigations and conducts home visits when appropriate.
- Conducts searches for medical records and initiates serologic reactors for follow‑up in accordance with district guidelines.
- Provides disease‑specific counseling and other appropriate patient education as required.
- Performs investigations, data collection, analysis, and interpretation.
- Provides pre‑ and post‑test counseling services to all public health patients receiving HIV/AIDS tests.
- Provides all sensitive diagnostic and therapeutic services in a non‑judgmental manner (e.g., sexual histories, patient lifestyle).
- Strictly adheres to the standard of patient and medical records confidentiality and professional conduct in all cases.
- Ensures timely and thorough reporting of all patients infected or at‑risk of being infected with a communicable disease to implement early disease intervention techniques.
- Coordinates communicable disease surveillance within the health district through collection and monitoring of morbidity data and enters all data into accepted surveillance systems such as SendSS.
