Job Summary

The duties include, but are not limited to, providing individual, couples/relational, group psychotherapy, and crisis intervention to students; treatment plan development; case management; care coordination; client advocacy; crisis intervention; consultation and administration; and interpretation of assessment instruments. Develops and delivers psycho educational presentations, trainings, and programs focused on promotion of emotional wellness and prevention of mental illness. Additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by the Director and Assistant Director, including front desk and phone coverage, campus trainings, and outreach to university and community organizations and groups.

Responsibilities
  • COUNSELING: Provide individual, group, and couples/relational psychotherapy to students. Administer and interpret assessment instruments, develop treatment plans, manage cases, coordinate care, advocate for clients, intervene in crises, and consult. Maintain adequate documentation. Provide clinical supervision to master’s level counseling interns/trainees. Coordinate specific SCAPS initiatives that enhance treatment or prevention services.
  • PROGRAMMING: Develop and conduct psycho‑educational workshops, class presentations, and other outreach programs to address preventive and developmental needs of students. Collaborate with campus departments, committees, and student organizations for joint programming. Provide training to campus organizations, faculty, and staff on mental health concerns of university students.

    EDUCATION:

    Attend continuing education programs required for professional license and certification maintenance, and stay current on best practices for university counseling centers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Master’s degree from an accredited college or university in mental health counseling, psychology, social work, or marital and family therapy by date of hire.
  • Employee must be licensed or eligible to become fully licensed to provide mental health services and treatment independently, in the state of Georgia.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior experience working in a university counseling center setting.
  • Experience providing group and couples counseling.
  • Experience and proficiency in assessing, diagnosing, and treating a wide range of mental health disorders.
  • Experience providing emergency services and treating more severe mental health concerns.
  • Prior clinical experience with a wide range of clinical cases and patient populations.
  • Experience providing outreach presentations on mental health topics relevant to university students.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Knowledge of and experience in Electronic Medical Record systems.
  • Detail‑oriented with strong prioritization and organizational skills.
  • Excellent analytical and customer service skills.
Shift, Salary & Benefits

Shift: Days; M‑F (Work outside of the standard business hours may be required)

Position Type: Full‑time (1.0 FTE) limited‑term position (estimated time frame of employment no more than 3 years)

Pay Band: B9

Salary: $48,800/annually – $50,752/annually

Salary to be commensurate with qualifications of the selected candidate within the established range (generally minimum‑midpoint) of the position.
