The lead anesthesia technician's role is to assist licensed anesthesia providers in the acquisition, preparation and application of the equipment and supplies required for the administration of anesthesia as well as support of the operating room through oversite of the Procedure Support Techs. In this role, they contribute to safe efficient and cost-effective anesthesia care and act as the clinical resource for Procedure Support Techs and Anesthesia technicians.
Anesthesia technicians provide support in anesthesia for routine and complex surgical cases. They provide this service by preparing and maintaining patient monitoring devices and anesthesia delivery systems before, during and after anesthesia. Procedure Support Techs facilitate efficiency and movement into, through and out of the procedural environment.
Education
- H.S. Diploma or General Education Degree (GED) Required
- 4 years Anesthesia Tech experience Required
- BCLS - Basic Life Support Required
- Cer.
A.T.
- Certified Anesthesia Technician Preferred
