Position: PATIENT DINING ASSOCIATE (DIETARY AIDE) (FULL TIME)

Position Details

  • Full‑time PATIENT DINING ASSOCIATE (DIETARY AIDE) – immediate hire.
  • Location:

    Piedmont Hospital of Augusta, 1350 Walton Way, Augusta, GA 30901. Online applications only.
  • Schedule:

    Monday‑Sunday, 6:30 am to 7:30 pm.
  • Pre‑employment experience:
    Previous customer‑service/hospitality experience is preferred.
  • Pay range: $14.00 to $15.50 per hour.
  • We provide training.
Job Summary

Patient Dining Associates work on assigned units in a healthcare facility, helping patients choose, assemble, deliver and pick‑up their meal trays. They are part of the caregiving team, ensuring food safety, accurate meal delivery, and patient satisfaction.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Help patients understand menu selections and collaborate with nursing to ensure nutritional compliance.
  • Work with caregivers and culinary team to provide menu alternatives for patients with allergies, sensitivities, cultural, ethnic or religious preferences, or special requests.
  • Manage tray tickets and assemble meals according to each patient’s menu selection, retrieving trays from patient rooms at assigned times.
  • Comply with regulatory and facility standards, including federal, state, JCAHO, HIPAA confidentiality, and patient‑rights policies.
  • Follow Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) guidelines during food handling, station cleaning, and tray line setup.
  • Adhere to facility and department infection‑control policies.
  • Assist dietitians with monitoring patients on non‑oral intake, liquid diets, or specific caloric limits.
  • Communicate problems or concerns to appropriate personnel promptly.
  • Complete daily, weekly, or monthly reports as outlined in company policies.
  • Comply with health and sanitation regulations and department sanitation procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Ability to read, write and interpret documents in English.
  • Basic computer and mathematical skills.
  • Must occasionally lift or move up to 100 pounds and maneuver food delivery carts.
