Staff Pharmacist

Overview

Performs duties of distribution, documentation, and compounding related to drugs, solutions, and equipment to meet the needs of patients and staff. Responsible for reviewing, compounding, dispensing, and monitoring medication therapy for infants, pediatric, adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients, including dosing variations, nutritional needs, and disease states associated with these age groups. Supervises pharmacy technician activities, monitoring all orders filled by auxiliary personnel.

Assumes responsibility for competency and self-development in professional pharmacy practice. Provides patient-focused clinical care throughout the hospital to ensure optimal medication therapy.

• Perform distribution, documentation, and compounding of drugs, solutions, and equipment.
• Review, compound, dispense, and monitor medication therapy for all age groups, considering dosing variations, nutritional needs, and disease states.
• Supervise pharmacy technician activities, monitoring all orders filled by auxiliary personnel.
• Maintain competency and pursue professional development in pharmacy practice.
• Provide patient-focused clinical care throughout the hospital to ensure optimal medication therapy.

• Graduate of an ACPE-accredited school of pharmacy with a bachelor's or higher in Pharmacy.

• No experience required.
• Hospital pharmacy experience preferred.

• PHARMD – Licensed Pharmacist licensed as a registered pharmacist in the state of Georgia, effective upon hire.
