Description:

Augusta Psychiatry & Therapy Associates LLC is looking for a friendly, organized, and dependable Front Desk Coordinator to join our growing mental health practice! Our front desk team plays an important role in creating a welcoming and supportive experience for every patient who walks through our doors. We are looking for someone who is professional, compassionate, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a busy healthcare environment.

What You'll Do Greet patients and visitors in a warm, professional manner. Check patients in and out and assist with daily patient flow. Answer phones, respond to messages, and assist patients with general questions. Schedule and confirm appointments and assist with rescheduling when needed. Verify insurance information and collect copays and patient balances. Obtain and scan insurance cards, driver's licenses, forms, and other required documentation.

Ensure patient charts are complete and accurately updated. Take and document blood pressure and other basic vital signs as needed. Communicate with providers, pharmacies, insurance companies, and patients regarding administrative needs. Route medication requests and clinical concerns to the appropriate provider. Assist with referrals, records requests, prior authorizations, and other administrative tasks. Maintain an organized, clean, and professional front office.

Follow HIPAA and all patient confidentiality requirements. Assist with other office and administrative duties as needed. What We're Looking For Previous medical office, behavioral health, front desk, or customer service experience preferred. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Comfortable using computers and electronic health record systems. Ability to multitask and prioritize in a fast-paced environment.

Professional, dependable, and punctual. Compassionate and comfortable interacting with individuals experiencing mental health concerns. Ability to maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries. Willingness to learn how to obtain and document vital signs, including blood pressure. The Ideal Candidate We are looking for someone who is friendly, reliable, compassionate, and takes pride in providing excellent patient service. Our front desk team is often the first point of contact for our patients, so a positive attitude and professional demeanor are extremely important.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or equivalent required. Previous experience in a medical office, mental health setting, front desk, administrative, or customer service role preferred. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Professional, friendly, and compassionate demeanor. Excellent organizational and time-management skills. Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask. Comfortable answering phones and communicating with patients, families, providers, pharmacies, and insurance companies. Basic computer skills and ability to learn electronic health record (EHR) and scheduling systems.

Ability to handle confidential patient information and follow HIPAA requirements. Ability to remain calm, professional, and respectful when interacting with patients who may be experiencing emotional distress. Comfortable collecting payments, verifying insurance information, and handling basic administrative and billing tasks. Willingness to learn and perform basic clinical support tasks, including obtaining and documenting blood pressure and other vital signs. Reliable attendance and punctuality are essential.

Ability to work independently while also functioning effectively as part of a team. Previous behavioral health or psychiatric office experience is a plus, but not required.
