Physical Therapist – Acute Care

Role Overview

Provides direct patient care within a multidisciplinary healthcare team, including physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals. Functions as a generalist with a focus on developing a clinical specialty, supervising rehabilitation technicians, volunteers, and students. Manages a caseload that may include adult and pediatric inpatients and outpatients.

• Implements and adjusts treatment plans based on current practices, documents progress, and ensures appropriate follow-up post-discharge.
• Performs patient evaluations, re-evaluations, goal setting, and discharge planning, documenting findings and sharing with relevant team members.
• Provides a positive learning environment for observers, volunteers, students, and staff, supporting ongoing education and skill development.
• Maintains departmental productivity standards, proactively manages patient needs, and ensures timely documentation.

• Bachelor’s degree in Physical Therapy.
• Licensed in Georgia and certified in Basic Life Support (BLS) or BLS Instructor.
• Strong clinical assessment, documentation, and patient care skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team, adapt to diverse patient needs, and support educational initiatives.
