ResponsibilitiesUnder the direction of the Lab Team leader, prepare blood components from donor blood in accordance with FDA and AABB guidelines to ensure the safety of blood products for patient use and further manufacturing.
- Preparebloodcomponentsfollowingstandardoperatingprocedures.
- Assistinqualitycontrolfunctionstoensureaccuracyandreliability.
- AdheretoSCBC/department policies,procedures,and guidelines.
- Supportotherteammembersinthelaboratoryand Hospital Services ,promotingpositivecustomerrelationstoachieveinternalharmonyandrepeatbusiness.
- Performadditionaldutiesasassigned.
- Performassigneddailyroutinespromptly.
- Workcollaborativelywithdepartmentalemployeesasateamtoprovidethehighestqualityservicetodonorsandcustomers.
- Reporttothe Assistant Director of Technical Servicesortheirdesignee .
- HighSchooldiplomaorGED.
- Previousexperienceinahealthcareorlaboratorysetting.
- Excellentcommunicationandinterpersonalskillsforeffectiveinteractionwithco-workersandSCBCpersonnel.
- Basiccomputerskills.
- Abilitytofunctionautonomouslyinalaboratorysetting,demonstratingbothinitiativeanddependability.
- Physicalcapabilitytoperformmanuallaborwhilestanding
100% ofthetime,withoccasionalliftingandhandlingofobjectsuptosixty(60) pounds. - Successfulcompletionofon-the-job training/orientationwithinsix(6) months.

- Regularly stand,walk,reach,stoop,kneel,bend,twist,andpush/pull.
- Workaflexibleschedule,includingweekendsandholidays.
- Operatewithinalaboratoryenvironmentwithpotentialexposuretoblood-borne pathogens.
