Job Summary

The HR Partner assists with the directing of a diverse range of support for the administration and development and implementation of initiatives. HRP serves as a strategic partner to the college or business unit, working closely with leadership and employees to align human resources practices with organizational goals. HRP provides expert advice, guidance, and support in areas such as workforce planning, talent management, organizational development, and employee relations.

This role requires a proactive, solutions-oriented approach to driving a high-performance culture while fostering a positive employee experience.

Major Duties
  • Serve as a trusted advisor to the executive team on all human capital matters, providing insights to enhance organizational effectiveness and drive business performance.
  • Collaborate on workforce planning, succession planning, and organizational design to optimize team performance.
  • Collaborate with the talent acquisition team to attract and onboard top talent that aligns with organizational culture and goals.
  • Provide insights and recommendations on improving employee engagement and retention strategies.
  • Build strong relationships with employees and leadership to address workplace concerns effectively and maintain a positive work environment.
  • Foster a positive, inclusive workplace culture that aligns with the organization’s values.
  • Handle employee relations issues, mediating conflicts, and ensuring adherence to company policies and employment laws.
  • Lead initiatives to resolve employee relations issues, ensuring fair and consistent application of policies and procedures.
  • Partner with managers to identify training and development needs, supporting leadership development programs and employee growth opportunities.
  • Facilitate performance management processes, including goal-setting, coaching, and performance evaluations.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable labor laws, regulations, TCSG Policies and workplace safety standards.
  • Establish policies and procedures to mitigate organizational risks related to employment practices.
  • Other duties as assigned
Competencies
  • Knowledge of the mission of postsecondary vocational/technical education
  • Knowledge of program assessment and strategic planning strategies
  • Knowledge of budget development and management principles
  • Knowledge of local demographics, regional issues, and the social culture of the community
  • Ability to relate effectively to people of varied academic, cultural and socio-economic backgrounds using act, diplomacy and courtesy
  • Skill in the operation of computers and job-related software programs Oral and written communication skills
  • Skill in interpersonal relations and in dealing with the public Decision making and critical thinking skills.
  • Knowledge of state and federal employment law.
  • Knowledge of college/TCSG/State pay and benefit processes.
Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in an area related to assignment
* and* Two (2) years of full-time experience in a position directly related to the performance of the job
