About the Role
The Senior Cloud Architect performs technical planning, architecture development, and specification modifications for cloud computing environments. The role involves developing specifications for new IT cloud computing products and services, assessing the compatibility and integration of proposed standards to ensure an integrated architecture across interdependent technologies, and influencing department strategy. The architect makes decisions on moderately complex to complex technical issues, works independently, and exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments.
Technologists passionate about building software products on multi‑cloud platforms and enjoying leading end‑to‑end processes will find this position rewarding. The architect will work in a small product engineering team focused on defining architecture, guiding product engineers, and collaborating with cross‑functional product engineers to facilitate bi‑directional exchange of information using event‑driven architecture across cloud‑native platforms.
Responsibilities include following security architecture guidelines, collaborating with cloud security teams to establish cloud‑based architecture (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS), and reporting to the Associate Director of Technology Solutions in IT – Business Data Analytics.
Qualifications- 7+ years of IT experience, with at least 4 years specializing in AWS architecture or cloud engineering.
- Strong knowledge of core AWS services: EC2, VPC, Lambda, ECS/EKS, RDS/Aurora, S3, KMS, Cloud Watch, IAM, Cloud Trail.
- Hands‑on experience designing and implementing AWS solutions using enterprise patterns.
- Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) and Dev Ops tools:
Terraform, Cloud Formation, Git Hub, CI/CD pipelines. - Deep understanding of cloud security concepts and enterprise governance models.
- Experience in hybrid‑cloud or multi‑account AWS environments.
- AWS Solutions Architect – Professional or equivalent certification strongly preferred.
- Knowledge of Delta‑approved AWS architecture patterns, including standardized VPC patterns, Delta Cloud Landing Zone (CLZ) aligned network and security topologies, serverless and container reference architectures, and approved data platform integration patterns (e.g., S3, Lambda, Glue, Redshift, API Gateway).
- Enterprise IAM and cross‑account access patterns.
- Perform technical planning and architecture development for cloud computing environments.
- Develop specifications for new IT cloud computing products and service offerings.
- Assess compatibility and integration of products/services to ensure a cohesive architecture across interdependent technologies.
- Influence department strategy and make decisions on moderately complex to complex technical issues.
- Lead end‑to‑end product engineering processes for event‑driven architecture.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams of product engineers.
- Follow security architecture guidelines and collaborate with cloud security teams to establish cloud‑based architecture (IaaS, PaaS, SaaS).
- Report to the Associate Director of Technology Solutions, IT – Business Data Analytics.
