Job Description

The Business Intelligence Analyst supports Cox Health by identifying, managing, and delivering actionable insights related to data and analytic needs. The role shapes data models, builds dashboards, performs data mining, and challenges business decisions with timely, insightful analysis.

• Manage business analytic processes and strategies including data integration, operational reporting, dashboards, and data mining.
• Determine reporting and analytics needs for programs and initiatives; create customized dashboards and performance metrics.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to design, test, and implement analytic tools (databases, extracts, reports, dashboards).
• Design, write, maintain, and support complex dashboards, queries, extracts, and reports using BI tools.
• Validate reports and data for accuracy; perform systematic problem‑solving.
• Prepare clear documentation of analytic methods, key decision points, and caveats.
• Identify potential clinical or financial performance improvement opportunities and communicate findings.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Information Systems, Business Administration, or related field OR 8 years of IT/Computer Science experience.
• Minimum of 4 years’ experience performing data analysis on clinical and financial information.
• Strong knowledge of SQL and data extraction tools.
• Experience with BI, statistical, and analytic tools such as Power BI and Business Objects.
• Working knowledge of complex database design and concepts.
• Excellent systematic problem‑solving, attention to detail, and independent work ability.
• Strong project management and interpersonal skills.
