Database Administrator
Overview
Utilize Data Classification tools to automatically scan, discover, and classify structured data based on sensitivity levels and potential impact. Utilize Data Encryption tools to encrypt structured data identified to contain sensitive data and decrypt the databases that are encrypted when the sensitive data has been removed to save encryption licenses. Assist with the Azure cloud migration of on-premises database servers to reduce cost and increase efficiency.
Support Oracle and SQL Server databases from 2016 and up throughout the county.
- Management Reporting:
Help upper management by extracting data, building data pipelines, and creating reports to monitor the number of servers/databases. - Create connection flow diagrams using Visio.
- Use Power Shell scripting to retrieve information from all SQL servers via automated jobs.
- Manage and lead technical projects; provide direction to peers and customers; oversee and monitor results.
- Advanced SQL Server (2016 and higher) administration including installation, upgrades, configuration, troubleshooting, tuning/optimization, and capacity planning.
- Oracle 19c database administration, RMAN recovery experience, and Oracle Database Appliance experience.
- Bachelor’s Degree in a related field AND five years of progressively responsible, professional-level analyst and systems experience in a large-scale IT environment; an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
- Valid Driver’s License from the state of residency.
- This job is a civilian position in either a public safety department or in Information Technology with close ties to public safety. A public safety background may be required, including motor vehicle and criminal histories, and fingerprinting.
- Fingerprinting is required.
- On-call rotation and emergency after-hours, weekend, and holiday coverage may be required.
