Risk Manager/Analyst, Insurance Risk / Loss Control
Summit is a specialized workers’ compensation insurance provider serving independent agents and policyholders across the Southeast and Mid‑Atlantic. We are seeking a seasoned Risk Management professional to support our field team in northwest Georgia.
Responsibilities- Lead complex risk assessments for insured properties and operations to inform underwriting decisions.
- Identify potential risk exposures and formulate strategic recommendations to mitigate identified risks.
- Interpret and analyze loss data to identify patterns and design and implement loss prevention programs tailored to client‑specific needs.
- Provide advanced technical guidance and conduct training for clients on safety practices and regulatory compliance.
- Monitor the effectiveness of loss control measures and make strategic adjustments to enhance outcomes as needed.
- May have responsibility for performance and coaching of staff and participate in talent selection, development, and performance management for direct reports.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Risk Management and Insurance, Safety Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
- Minimum 13 years of experience in loss control, risk management, or related field within the property and casualty insurance industry.
- Completion of or continuing progress toward a professional designation is preferred (CSP, ARM, CFPS, CSHMS, ALCM, or OHST).
- Advanced analytical, risk assessment, and problem‑solving skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and consultative skills.
- Advanced knowledge of company policies, industry laws, and regulations.
- Ability to use data to analyze situations, identify problems, and recommend effective solutions.
- Strong leadership and coaching abilities for direct reports.
Field‑based position located in the northwest Georgia area. Regular travel required to conduct on‑site risk assessments, consult with insureds, and support policyholder injury prevention and risk management initiatives.
