Educational Sign Language Interpreter - Evans

• Valid certification or licensure as a Sign Language Interpreter
• EIPA (Educational Interpreter Performance Assessment) score of 3.5 or higher required
• Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) and knowledge of interpreting in classroom settings
• Ability to adapt communication styles to meet student needs across various age groups
• Previous experience in a school environment is preferred but not required
• Strong interpersonal skills and commitment to confidentiality and professional ethics

• Interpret spoken language into sign language and vice versa for students, classroom teachers, and staff during lessons, assemblies, meetings, and extracurricular activities
• Support students’ access to academic content and communication throughout the school day
• Foster a positive and inclusive educational environment by facilitating effective communication
• Collaborate with educational teams to ensure students’ individualized needs are met
• Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and flexibility in a dynamic school environment
