The Purchasing Manager at SERVPRO oversees all procurement activities supporting mitigation and reconstruction operations. This role is responsible for managing vendor relationships, negotiating pricing, and ensuring timely, cost-effective purchasing of materials, equipment, and services. The Purchasing Manager plays a critical role in maintaining project profitability—especially for reconstruction jobs—by aligning purchasing strategies with budgets, timelines, and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities:- Manage and maintain relationships with vendors, subcontractors, and suppliers
- Source, evaluate, and onboard new vendors to ensure quality, reliability, and competitive pricing
- Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts to maximize cost savings and support gross profit goals
- Create, review, and track purchase orders to ensure accuracy and timely delivery of materials
- Collaborate with project managers, estimators, and operations teams to align purchasing with project scopes and budgets
- Monitor material costs and market trends to proactively manage expenses
Support gross profit targets on reconstruction jobs through strategic purchasing and cost control - Resolve vendor issues, including delays, quality concerns, and billing discrepancies
- Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing agreements, and vendor performance
- Ensure compliance with company policies, insurance requirements, and industry standards
- Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs
- Assist with inventory management and material forecasting as needed
- Experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management (construction or restoration industry preferred)
- Strong negotiation and vendor management skills
- Knowledge of construction materials, estimating, and job costing
- Excellent organizational and communication abilities
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
