Responsibilities Procurement Manager

Augusta, GA

In this role, you'll play a key part in keeping our manufacturing operation running by making sure the right materials are available, at the right quality, and at the right cost. This isn't just about placing orders. You'll shape procurement strategy, build strong supplier partnerships, manage risk, and help drive continuous improvement across the supply chain.

The Role

As Procurement Manager, you'll lead procurement activities for a manufacturing site focused on crucible production. You'll work closely with production, quality, warehouse, and leadership teams to ensure materials flow efficiently through the business while balancing cost, quality, delivery, and inventory. You'll also lead and develop the procurement function, helping create a supply chain that's resilient, lean, and fit for the future.

You'll Do
  • Develop and deliver procurement strategies that support business and production goals
  • Forecast material requirements and align purchasing plans with manufacturing demand
  • Lead supplier selection, performance management, and relationship building
  • Negotiate contracts, pricing agreements, and commercial terms
  • Manage supplier risk and identify opportunities to improve supply continuity
  • Monitor inventory levels and help maintain the right balance between availability and working capital
  • Work with quality teams to ensure purchased materials meet required standards
  • Lead supplier audits and support corrective actions where needed
  • Identify and deliver cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality or service
  • Manage procurement budgets, spending, and savings reporting
  • Support Integrated Business Planning processes from a procurement perspective
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, regulations, and procurement best practice
  • Lead, coach, and develop the procurement team
  • Drive continuous improvement and supply chain excellence initiatives
Qualifications What You'll Bring
  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Procurement, Engineering, Business, or a related field
  • Around 10 years of procurement experience within a manufacturing environment
  • Strong knowledge of strategic sourcing, supplier management, and contract negotiation
  • Experience managing supplier performance and mitigating supply chain risk
  • Solid understanding of inventory management and working capital principles
  • Strong commercial acumen with the ability to identify and deliver cost improvements
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Confident decision-maker who can balance competing priorities
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to build relationships across all levels of the business
