job summary
the general maintenance worker will perform general maintenance and repairs for assigned equipment and facilities, including repairs and cleaning.
description- perform minor fixes, such as ceiling tiles, damage to walls, replacing light bulbs, etc.
- install necessary equipment as needed.
- check system controls and critical systems, logging information as required; complete minor adjustments as needed.
- perform necessary cleaning activities, such as dusting, mopping, trash removal, etc.
- complete regular maintenance tasks, including preventive maintenance work requests.
- inspect and troubleshoot various equipment and systems.
- test the functionality of the facility’s safety systems.
- report to the facilities or maintenance manager regarding issues resolved and those needing attention.
- other duties as assigned.
- high school diploma or equivalent.
- proven experience as a maintenance worker or other similar position, preferably in a corporate setting.
- basic working knowledge of hvac, plumbing, and electrical systems.
- experience working with tools, including hand and electrical tools.
- excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- general passion for creative problem‑solving.
- must be able to lift 50 lbs., squat, bend, stoop, and kneel for short periods, climb a ladder, stand for long periods of time, and perform constant arm extensions.
- occasional exposure to elements such as heat, cold, noise, dust, dirt, chemicals, with minor safety hazards (e.g., cuts, bruises).
