General Maintenance Worker 1st Shift

job summary

the general maintenance worker will perform general maintenance and repairs for assigned equipment and facilities, including repairs and cleaning.

• perform minor fixes, such as ceiling tiles, damage to walls, replacing light bulbs, etc.
• install necessary equipment as needed.
• check system controls and critical systems, logging information as required; complete minor adjustments as needed.
• perform necessary cleaning activities, such as dusting, mopping, trash removal, etc.
• complete regular maintenance tasks, including preventive maintenance work requests.
• inspect and troubleshoot various equipment and systems.
• test the functionality of the facility’s safety systems.
• report to the facilities or maintenance manager regarding issues resolved and those needing attention.
• other duties as assigned.

• high school diploma or equivalent.
• proven experience as a maintenance worker or other similar position, preferably in a corporate setting.
• basic working knowledge of hvac, plumbing, and electrical systems.
• experience working with tools, including hand and electrical tools.
• excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• general passion for creative problem‑solving.

• must be able to lift 50 lbs., squat, bend, stoop, and kneel for short periods, climb a ladder, stand for long periods of time, and perform constant arm extensions.
• occasional exposure to elements such as heat, cold, noise, dust, dirt, chemicals, with minor safety hazards (e.g., cuts, bruises).
