Job SummaryThe Environmental Services Technician (EVS) is responsible for establishing and maintaining a safe, clean, hygienic, and aesthetically pleasing learning, research, and care environment. The technician works closely with faculty, staff, students, and visitors, ensuring all cleanliness, infection prevention, and safety standards are met on a daily basis.
Responsibilities- Floor Cleaning – Clean, disinfect, and vacuum all common area floors according to the established schedule. Shampoo carpets, buff, strip, and refinish tile floors as directed.
- Common Area Cleaning – Thoroughly clean lobbies and public restrooms, vacuum carpets, sweep/mop tile floors, buff surfaces, clean glass, and dispose of trash.
- General Cleaning – Spot clean offices, vacuum carpets, dust, clean windows, blinds, and sills; maintain conference rooms and lounges.
- Policies – Follow all established policies, dress code, and attendance requirements.
- Equipment Use – Use and maintain assigned equipment, report issues, and clean after each use.
- Event Support – Assist with event setup and breakdown and perform other EVS tasks as assigned.
- Restroom Cleaning – Disinfect fixtures, clean mirrors and dispenser pumps, restock paper products, and keep restrooms free of debris.
- Lab Cleaning – Clean and disinfect lab floors, remove trash, and manage bio‑hazardous waste containers.
- Other Duties – Perform additional duties as requested.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent from an accredited organization, OR
- One year of relevant experience in a commercial, hospital, or industrial setting.
- Industrial or commercial cleaning experience
- Valid state driver’s license
- Knowledge – Solid work history and proficiency with Microsoft Office and related software.
- Skills – Excellent interpersonal, verbal, and written communication, and outstanding customer service capabilities.
- Abilities – Successful teamwork, confidentiality, adherence to standards, prioritization, and following oral and written instructions.
Shift: Monday – Friday (Several positions available). Salary:
Minimum $15.00/hr (commensurate within the established range). Benefits include health, dental, and life insurance, retirement options, paid vacation, sick leave, and holidays. Tuition assistance may be available for eligible full‑time employees.
