Senior Project Manager

Job Description

A Senior Construction Project Manager directs large-scale construction projects from inception to completion, ensuring compliance with budget, schedule, safety, and quality standards. They lead project teams, manage stakeholder relationships, negotiate contracts, and resolve complex field issues. This role requires 5+ years of experience, strong leadership, and expertise in construction methods.

Key Responsibilities

• Project Execution & Control:
  Manage multiple complex projects, ensuring they are completed within budget, scope, and schedule.
• Financial Management:
  Develop detailed budgets, manage cash flows, approve payment applications, and monitor project profitability.
• Team Leadership:
  Lead and mentor project teams, including superintendents and junior managers.
• Stakeholder Management:
  Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, architects, and engineers.
• Risk Mitigation & Safety:
  Identify risks, develop contingency plans, and enforce a strict safety culture.
• Documentation & Compliance:
  Review construction drawings, manage change orders, and ensure compliance with building regulations.

Skills and Qualifications

• Experience:
  
  Generally 5+ years in construction management, with 1-3 years of supervisory experience.
• Education:
  
  Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• Technical Knowledge:
  Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and safety regulations.
• Software
  
  Skills:
  
  Proficiency in scheduling software (e.g., Primavera, MS Project) and project management tools (e.g., Procore, Oracle).
• Competencies:
  
  Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills.

Physical and Work Environment

• Frequent site visits for progress walkthroughs, often in physically demanding environments.
• May require working hours beyond the standard 9-5, including weekends or evenings to meet deadlines.
