Augusta University is an innovation center for education and health care, training the next generation of innovators, leaders, and healthcare providers across four campuses in Augusta and other locations in Georgia. The Georgia Cyber Innovation and Training Center (GCITC) is a state‑of‑the‑art facility dedicated to building cybersecurity talent.

Job Summary

Reporting to the CRC Director, the Assistant Director Portfolio Management leads portfolio delivery for Cyber Resiliency Center projects and programs. The role manages a collection of projects to achieve CRC strategic objectives, ensuring governance discipline, roadmap planning, risk and dependency management, KPI reporting, vendor coordination, and capacity planning.

Responsibilities
  • Set multi‑quarter direction, milestones and dashboards, and conduct post‑implementation reviews.
  • Ensure compliance with cybersecurity regulations, governance frameworks, and maturity models.
  • Translate organizational objectives into KPIs and risk metrics, and establish monitoring and reporting methods.
  • Advise senior leadership and stakeholders on cybersecurity tradeoffs and risk management.
  • Conduct strategic planning to support GCITC CRC mission.
  • Support implementation of educational research and entrepreneurial programs aligned with the center’s vision.
  • Identify and execute business growth opportunities, new revenue streams, and partnership development.
  • Oversee staffing, budgeting, contracting, and resource allocation.
  • Mentor and develop workforce, including recruitment, hiring, and retention.
  • Coordinate multiple CRC initiatives, managing schedules, scope, dependencies and quality.
  • Utilize procurement, budgeting, supply‑chain risk, and security integration knowledge for compliant, cost‑effective delivery.
  • Guide vendor decisions, align resources, and deliver the CRC portfolio with fiscal discipline.
  • Support development of resources for financial health, manage P&L, annual budgets, KPI tracking, and reporting.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
  • Ten or more years of program and/or project management experience, including leading process improvement initiatives.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Project Management Professional certification or equivalent experience.
  • Record of transparent, high‑integrity leadership in managing cybersecurity frameworks and processes.
  • Knowledge of cybersecurity industry, key players, trends, and opportunities.
  • Federal government or military experience.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and related software/databases.
  • Hands‑on budget management, including preparation, analysis, decision‑making, and reporting.
  • Strong organizational skills: planning, delegating, program development, task facilitation.
  • Strong oral and written communication; public speaking.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and convey a strategic vision.
  • Ability to oversee, collaborate with, and motivate peers, staff and partners.
  • Ability to interface and engage with diverse staff, customers and community stakeholders.
Shift / Salary / Benefits

Shift: Days, Monday–Friday (outside normal business hours may be required).

Pay Band: B17.

Salary:
Minimum $109,500 per year, commensurate with qualifications.

Benefits: health, dental, life insurance, retirement options, paid holidays, vacation, sick leave, tuition assistance after six months of employment.
