Responsible for driving and executing operational excellence and continuous improvement initiatives across assigned manufacturing, distribution, and/or field locations. Partners closely with site leadership to identify opportunities, implement Lean methodologies, and improve safety, quality, efficiency, and cost performance. Serves as a change agent in the field, supporting the deployment of standardized continuous improvement tools, facilitating improvement events, and ensuring sustainable adoption of process improvements aligned with White Cap’s Operational Excellence framework and TRUSTED values.

Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities
  • Lead and facilitate continuous improvement initiatives to improve productivity, quality, safety, and cost performance at assigned locations.
  • Partner with manufacturing, branch, and field leadership to identify process inefficiencies and implement data-driven solutions.
  • Facilitate Kaizen events, value stream mapping, and other Lean improvement workshops.
  • Apply Lean and Six Sigma tools to analyze processes, identify root causes, and drive measurable improvements.
  • Support deployment and adoption of standardized Operational Excellence tools, processes, and best practices across sites.
  • Develop, track, and report key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure impact of improvement initiatives.
  • Provide coaching and training to site leaders and associates on continuous improvement principles and tools.
  • Drive change management efforts to ensure sustained adoption of process improvements.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to share best practices and replicate successful improvements across locations.
  • Support or mentor Lean practitioners or Green Belts as needed.
Nature and Scope
  • Solutions require analysis and investigation.
  • Achieves planned results by decisions and actions based on professional methods, business principles, and practical experience.
  • Manages a group or team of professional individual contributors and/or indirectly supervises support staff.
Work Environment
  • Located in a comfortable indoor area. Any unpleasant conditions would be infrequent and not objectionable.
  • Most of the time is spent sitting in a comfortable position and there is frequent opportunity to move about. On rare occasions there may be a need to move or lift light articles.
  • Typically requires overnight travel 20% to 50% of the time.
Education and Experience

Typically requires BS/BA in a related discipline. Generally, 7+ years of experience in a related field. May require certification. Advanced degree may offset less experience in some disciplines.

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience in non-serialized equipment rental, manufacturing, distribution, or field operations environment.
  • Experience leading Kaizen events, Lean transformations, or operational improvement projects.
  • Experience working in multi-site or geographically distributed operations.
  • Experience influencing cross-functional teams without direct authority.
  • Experience in construction, rental, or industrial services industry.
  • Lean Six Sigma Black Belt preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of Lean principles (5S, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, standard work).
  • Strong data analysis and problem-solving skills.
  • Change management and facilitation experience.
  • Ability to develop and track operational KPIs.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills.
  • Project management capability (informal or formal).
  • Proficiency in Excel and operational reporting tools.
