Class Summary
The Building Systems Manager position in the Operations and Maintenance division manages the mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems for facilities under the Department of Support Services. The incumbent supervises trades staff and administers service contracts for these systems and facilities. In addition, the manager oversees building automation, access control, fire alarm, security alarm, video surveillance, and other control systems. Incumbent directs engineering projects, including defining project budgets, developing, reviewing, and approving designs, and performing data analysis.
The role also maintains reports and coordinates the RFP process. This position is a grade 106.
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a closely related field; AND
- Six (6) years of progressively responsible engineering and/or facility maintenance program management experience; OR
- An equivalent combination of education and experience sufficient to successfully perform the essential duties of the job, such as those listed above.
