- Must hold or be eligible for a valid Georgia Educator's Certificate in Educational Leadership and/or Support Personnel License issued by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission (Required)

- 10+ years in a public school setting with five years progressive administrative leadership experience Required
- Ability to communicate effectively with individuals and groups including the Board, Superintendent, Cabinet, Board Attorney, central office staff, local school staff, and the general public
- Overall knowledge of the total operation of the school system is essential
- Must have knowledge of current school law
- Must have good listening, writing, and decision-making skills
- Must be organized and intuitive in order to accomplish the various activities that need attention and action on a daily basis
- Must have a working knowledge of the Continuous Quality Improvement philosophy and exhibit Gwinnett's Quality-Plus Leadership principles on a daily basis

Ensure the effective operation of the Superintendent's office and provide comprehensive support in system initiatives and priorities, cross divisional collaboration, and assist the Superintendent with Board initiatives and projects. Work collaboratively with designated staff to ensure effective leadership in developing, achieving, and maintaining the best educational programs and services. Provide direct support in all matters related to Legislation and Policy and serve as the District's Legal liaison.
Support the Superintendent and Senior Staff members in Policy Development and complex issues and needs.
- Advance the Superintendent's vision and priorities for the District.
- Support the Superintendent with designated key group's (i.e., Gwinnett Chamber of Commerce, TAC, etc.) and serve as his representative as designated.
- Assist in the accurate and timely dissemination of information from the Superintendent's Office to all stakeholders related to the District's strategic direction.
- Participates with the Superintendent and other senior staff in strategic planning, policy development and problem resolution of complex issues and needs.
- Analyze and manage sensitive issues to prevent negative District impact.
- Prepare and contribute to the preparation or reports, briefings, presentations, and response on strategic issues as appropriate.
- Support the Superintendent in oversight and direction related to change management and Strategic Planning.
- Provide oversight of designated specials projects and all facets of the Superintendent's Office.
- Ensure Divisional alignment to District initiatives and priorities.
- Participate and assist the Superintendent with Strategic Planning and implementation of the District's Blueprint.
- Facilitate cross divisional communication.
- Serve as a member of the Superintendent's Executive Cabinet.
- Keep the Superintendent apprised of significant issues, problems, and concerns.
- Serve as a confidential advisor to the Superintendent of various system issues.
- Support Superintendent's vision of innovation across the District.
- Attend all meetings designated by the Superintendent to provide support for Board members.
- Communicate and assist Senior staff with Board expectations.
- Provide effective communication to Board members on designated issues, initiatives, and priorities.
- Support Board members with any/all essential needs as directed by the Superintendent and foster, manage, and develop Board cohesiveness.
- Provide oversight and direction in the development, review , and revision of system policies/procedures and the Legislative process.
- Interpret to Board members, staff, and community the policies and procedures.
- Keep the Superintendent and Board apprised of new legislation and its impact on system policies and operations.
- Ensure the development and implementation of the Board Legislative Priorities.
- Assist with Gwinnett Legislative Delegation, Intergovernmental relations and lobbying.
